Swimming lessons commenced at Athlone Regional Sports Centre on Tuesday 4th February. Due to the late starting date, lessons will continue to the end of March.

Confirmation 2020
Confirmation will take place in the Church of the Most Holy Redeemer, Ballymore on Wednesday 12th February 2020 at 3.pm. Forgney National School would like to wish their 6th Class pupils, Luke and Tiarnán the best of good luck as they receive the Sacrament of Confirmation.
Christmas 2019
Christmas Outing 2019 will be to Longford Megabowl on Tuesday 17th December. Computer classes are taking place every Friday the last being on December 20th.
Forgney National School pupils will perform their Nativity play and Carol Service in Thomond Lodge at 1.30 pm on Thursday 19th December. School will close at 12 noon on Friday 20th December 2019.
Swimming will commence on Tuesday 21st January 2020 for 7 weeks.

Football Final 2019
Congratulations to Forgney NS football team who took part in the division 5 football final v Killasanna in Longford Slashers Complex before the Halloween break. After a brilliant game of football Killasanna emerged victorious by 8 points. Well done to all our panel members, Ethan, Lillie, Lisa, Sean, Frank, Fionn, Luke, Tiarnan, Cian and Eoghan. Congratulations to Lillie who was selected as player of the match. After the game refreshments were enjoyed by all on Cooney’s Hotel Ballymahon.

Community Games
Congratulations to Forgney National School 2nd class pupil, Eoghan, who won 1st place at the County Longford Community games U-10 model making competition. Eoghan then went on to win the gold medal at the all-Ireland competition. Well done Eoghan!
Goldsmith Poetry Competition
Congratulation to Forgney National School 4th Class pupil, Fionn, who was highly commended in the Goldsmith poetry, schools competition, of which there were over 400 entries. Fionn will be presented with his prize on Sunday 2nd June in Pallas at 3.30 pm. Well done Fionn!
