Forgney National School will travel to Truroe Pet Farm Experience on Tuesday 20th December. Children will dress up warm and bring their letters to post to ‘Santa’. We hope that they enjoy this lovely Christmas adventure!

Forgney School Nativity & Carol Service 2022
Forgney School held their Nativity and Carol Service in Forgney Church of the Immaculate Conception at 7 pm on Tuesday 13th December.
It was a beautiful and serene display from our very talented children in the wonderfully setting of our Church. We sincerely hope everyone enjoyed the performance. Many thanks to everyone who sponsored prizes for the raffle, and congratulation to all the prize winners.
Swimming 2023
Forgney National School pupils will commence a 6 week programme of swimming lesson on Monday 16th January 2023.
The lessons will be every Monday at 10 am, up until they finish on 20th February.
Technical University of the Shannon (TUS) – Athletics Programme 2022
Forgney National School Pupils took part in a very progressive 5 week sports programme held at TUS. The children benefited immensely from participating in a very wide range of sporting activities.
Computer Classes 2022/23
Forgney pupils have really enjoyed and benefited from our yearly programme of Computer classes taught by Margaret Dolan. Classes are on-going and will finish in January 2023.
Football 2022
Forgney National School are attending the Emper Football Tournament on Wednesday 28th September.
We would like to wish the football team all the very best of luck. We hope they enjoy the matches.

Award to Past Pupil 2022
Forgney National School would like to extend congratulations to past pupil Harvey Townsend who was awarded Ballymahon Vocational School, Leaving Certificate, Student of the Year 2022. Oliver Goldsmith Poetry Competition 2022
Congratulations to 5th Class pupil Rian Halse who won the Gold medal in the Oliver Goldsmith Poetry Competition. Rian’s poem was called ‘The Fisherman’ it was the overall winner in a competition where there were 14 schools taking part. Rian read his poem at the special prize giving ceremony, Forgney National School would like to commend him on his wonderful poem and are very proud of his achievement.
Congratulations to 3rd Class pupil Hadrian Alves, whose poem was highly commended at the Oliver Goldsmith Poetry Competition, Forgney National is very proud of his achievement, well done Hadrian.
St. Patrick’s Day Parade 2022
It was great to see the Ballymahon St. Patrick’s Day Parade this year. Well done to everyone that took part and to everyone who helped to organise a lovely display of creativity. We hope that everyone enjoyed themselves. Thank you to you all.
