Congratulations to Forgney National School 2nd class pupil, Eoghan, who won 1st place at the County Longford Community games U-10 model making competition. Eoghan then went on to win the gold medal at the all-Ireland competition. Well done Eoghan!

Congratulation to Forgney National School 4th Class pupil, Fionn, who was highly commended in the Goldsmith poetry, schools competition, of which there were over 400 entries. Fionn will be presented with his prize on Sunday 2nd June in Pallas at 3.30 pm. Well done Fionn!

School’s Football Division 5 – Forgney 4 – 9 Tashinney 3 – 11. A Brilliant game of football and a great win for the Forgney Football Team, well done to everyone involved!

Congratulations to children and parents on the winning of 1st prize in the ‘Best Effort’ category at this years St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Ballymahon. Well done and a big thank you to all concerned!

Forgney National School Swim Lessons ran from January to March. We would like to thank all parents and guardians who helped with swimming arrangements and transport to and from the pool.

Forgney National School  been awarded the An Taisce Green Flag  award in recognition of their efforts in the area of recycling.

Congratulations to all involved.  The Flag was presented to Forgney National School at an awards ceremony in the Hudson Bay Hotel, Athlone on May 23rd 2018.  Forgney National School were represented by Jaimee, Emma, Sean and Teacher Ms. Birmingham.

Well done to the remaining Green Schools Committee Luke, Fionn, Eoghan and Cian for their hard work throughout the year. Thanks to all the pupils for participating in all activities.

A special thank you Ms. Birmingham who is the Green Flag coordinator.

Forgney National School end of year mass will take place on Friday 22nd June 2018 at 1.00 pm. in the school, everyone is very welcome to attend!

School will close for the summer holidays on  Wednesday 27th June at          12 noon.     Forgney National School staff would like to wish pupils, parents/guardians and the whole school community a happy and safe summer break.

Forgney National School will re-open for the school year 2018/2019 on Monday 3rd September 2018.

This year our school tour is on Tuesday 26th June and will take us to Shannon River Adventure Centre in Rooskey Co. Roscommon

Computer Classes will commence for 7 weeks on Friday 9th November 2018.
