Forgney National School pupils met with the famine walkers on day 3 of their 6 day walk from Strokestown to Dublin. They re-enacted the walk made by the “missing 1490” who fled Strokestown during the famine. In 1857, these men, women were among 5,000 who emigrated to Canada.
